Description
The ZA-42 Zone Expansion adder is a simplistic means to expand the PFC-5004E into an Eight Zone Class B (Style B) or a Four Zone Class A (Style D) fire alarm control panel. In addition, the ZA-42 expands the panel to have Four Notification Circuits rated at 1.7 amps each.
Installation
The PFC-5004E is designed to have the ZA-42 directly fasten to the front faceplate and plug into for communication and power. In addition, a single jumper is moved on the main fire alarm board to supervise the expansion board.
Engineering Specification
The Potter ZA-42 shall be installed in the PFC-5004E when zone expansion is required. The ZA-42 shall provide 4 additional Class B (Style B) or 2 Class A (Style D). In addition, the module shall provide 2 Notification Circuits rated at 1.7 amps each. The Notification Circuits shall be Class A (Style Z) or Class B (Style Y).
The ZA-42 shall be directly powered from the PFC-5004E and the communication to the main board shall be through a ribbon cable. All circuits shall be fully supervised. Configuration of the ZA-42 shall be done through dipswitches located on the main fire alarm board as well as the ZA-42.
